CurriculumIn this course, students will be exposed to the historical, geographic, political,economic,and sociological events which influenced the development of the United States and the resulting impact on world history. So that students can clearly see the relationship between cause and effect in historical events, students should have the opportunity to explore those fundamental ideas and events which occurred after Reconstruction.

Grading Policy |
Student grades are based upon mastery of Florida State Standards and NGSSS. All grades are based solely on summative assessments. 20% of the student grade will include: skill based quizzes, mini projects, individual standard assessment 80% of the student grade will include but is not limited to: tests, projects, products, and presentations. Assessments will be used to guide instruction and provide students with feedback. These assessments are ongoing and given throughout the learning process. Reassessment Guidelines: Reassessment opportunities will be given at the teachers’ discretion. Students must complete the following requirements to qualify for a reassessment on classroom summative assessments. 1. He or she must have completed all missing or low scoring formative classwork assessments 2. He or she must have corrected the question(s) they missed on the summative assessment New grades will replace the previous assessment score if the new score is higher. Late and Make-up Work: All make-up work (work assigned while a student is absent) must be turned in to the teacher within five days of returning to school. It is the student’s responsibility to request make-up work. If summative work is not completed and there is insufficient evidence available to assess the standard, students will receive an “I” grade on their report card. Per school board policy, the student will be allowed two (2) weeks following the receipt of the report card to complete required assignments. |
